EMTs who wish to advance their career must pass the Advanced EMT program which is also offered as a one-semester, 16 credit hour course. Advanced EMTs are eligible for employment in Tennessee public and private sector ambulance services and will learn more in-depth content including invasive medical procedures and greater breadth and depth in pathophysiology. The paramedic program is the pinnacle pre-hospital professional licensure and is a 3-semester, competitive admissions program.
