TRiO Student Support Services Presents Summer Bridge

What is Summer Bridge?

The TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) invites newly admitted first-year students to apply for the 2023 TRIO SSS Summer Bridge. This 3-day TRiO Summer Bridge program includes academic and personal development information designed to ease transition to college.

Why Summer Bridge?

Summer Bridge is a great way to begin your Columbia State experience. As a Summer Bridge participant you will:

  • Complete the Columbia State Student Success Course required for all first time students.
  • Meet with your assigned TRiO Success Coach to map out a plan for academic success.
  • Learn and develop valuable student skills that will be useful throughout college.
  • Practice college level math and writing skills.
  • Connect with Columbia State faculty and staff.
  • Begin college with a great group of peers.

When is Summer Bridge?

  • June 15; 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (Columbia Campus)
  • June 20 - 22; 9 a.m. - Noon

Cost of Summer Bridge?

There are no additional out-of-pocket expenses for the TRiO Summer Experience. 

What is Say it with Music?

On June 15, all Summer Bridge participants will be a part of the Say It with Music program, offering students the opportunity to create and record a song. Full attendance is required to be a part of Say it with Music.

What about attendance?

Participants must attend the full Summer Bridge program. Please check your personal schedule for issues with work, vacations, family events, etc.

What is needed to attend Summer Bridge?

Participants need to:

  • Be fully admitted to Columbia State and plan to enroll in Fall 2023 classes.
  • Complete the 2023-2024 FAFSA.
  • Complete and submit both the Columbia State TRiO SSS and TRiO Summer Bridge applications.
