Columbia State women's soccer recently hosted a Signing Day event for the first four of the new recruits for the 2024 season.

At the signing, the current high school seniors and their families traveled to the Columbia Campus to be recognized while getting to know their future coaches and teammates.

“The women’s soccer program has taken steps in the direction we want to be going into 2024,” said Kean Barclay, Columbia State women’s soccer coach. “It's a momentous day for us as we look to bring in the players that we believe that can take us to the next level. We’re looking forward to what's in store for us as we prepare for the next step in the program's direction.”

Addison Alexander, from Spring Hill High School, is also a member of Tennessee Soccer Club’s Elite Clubs National League team. She joins her two sisters who are already current players on Columbia State’s team.

“I’m looking forward to the experiences my sisters and I are going to have since we have played travel soccer together when we were younger,” Alexander said. “At Columbia State I’m excited to meet new people and make new friends.”

Kyleigh Binkley, from Sycamore High School, also played with Rampage Soccer Club.

“I’m looking forward to bringing my mentality for soccer to my college career,” Binkley said. “I want to keep the love I have for soccer throughout my career. I’m also looking forward to meeting my other Columbia State teammates.”

Alice Flippo, from Pope John Paul II High School, is also a former Tennessee Soccer Club player. She comes to Columbia State to fill an empty goalkeeper position.

“I hope to bring a sense of leadership to the Columbia State team,” Flippo said. “At Columbia State I’m looking forward to playing with old teammates and being close to home.”

Karson Long, from East Hickman High School, holds their single season scoring record as well as their career all-time scoring record. She also played on the Arsenal Soccer Club team.

“In my college career I’m hoping to bring leadership and also hoping to bring in those goals,” Long said. “I’m also excited to play at Columbia State with the people I played club soccer with.”
