Columbia State Department of Music Presents Winter Concert

Columbia State Community College’s Department of Music will present its winter concert on November 16 at 2 p.m. in the Cherry Theater on the Columbia Campus.

“I am excited for this concert,” said Holli Scholz, Columbia State music instructor. “This will be my second year at Columbia State and its such a pleasure to have second-year students along with new students joining forces to bring you a great program."

The Columbia State music students will perform their final concert of the semester consisting of solo vocalists, pianists and instrumentalists. The choir, directed by Scholz, will also perform pieces by composers such as Beethoven, Burgmuller, Kuhlau, Schubert, Tchaikovsky as well as more contemporary composers like Eric Whitacre and Ro Ogura. The concert will conclude with selections of an English Carol Medley and a Holiday madrigal.

The concert is free and open to the public. The Cherry Theater is in the Waymon L. Hickman Building on the Columbia Campus, located at 1665 Hampshire Pike.
