Columbia State Community College will host a summer 3D Design and Manufacturing camp June 20 – 24 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
“We are excited for the summer 3D Design and Manufacturing camp,” said Mehran Mostajir, Columbia State program director and assistant professor of engineering systems technology. “At the camp students will learn how a business works, how to design and build a product in a 3D printer and how to then market and sell their manufactured product.”
The 3D Design and Manufacturing camp is a 5-day camp designed to help students learn how to design and manufacture a product in addition to learning about marketing and selling a product. During the camp, students will have fun while learning to work as a team. At the end of the camp, students will make a presentation to showcase their experience. Students do not need to have knowledge of AutoCAD or web design but do need to feel comfortable using computers.
The camp is recommended for ages 14 – 16. The fee to attend is $75. Lunch and snacks will be provided, but students are encouraged to bring a water bottle.
The camp will be held in the Webster Athletic Center on Columbia State’s Columbia Campus located at 1665 Hampshire Pike.
