Commercial Entertainment Presents “Pippin”
(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - March 20, 2018) - - - Columbia State Community College's commercial entertainment program will present this year's annual spring musical, "Pippin," April 6 in the Jamison Hall at The Factory.
Join the prince as he learns the true meaning of glory, love and war in Stephen Schwartz's iconic and unforgettable musical masterpiece, "Pippin."
This 2013 Broadway revival of "Pippin" is a circus-inspired version of the play following a young man's extraordinary journey to happiness and fulfillment. The play sends a universal message that happiness can be found in everyday life, not just in the extraordinary moments.
"Our students are thrilled to be working on this re-imagined version of the Steven Schwartz classic," said Cathy Hudnall, Columbia State program director and assistant professor of commercial entertainment. "They've had the opportunity to learn new skills and to challenge themselves to be more well-rounded performers."
"Pippin" was originally produced on Broadway by Stuart Ostrow and directed by Bob Fosse. The 2013 revival was directed by Diane Paulus. The Theo ending was originally conceived in 1998 by Mitch Sebastian.
The spring musical begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this event are $18 for adults and $15 for seniors and children ages 3 - 10. Group rates are available.
