Columbia State Department Of Music Presents Its Fall Concert

(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Oct. 31, 2016) - - - Columbia State Community College's Department of Music will present its fall concert on Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. in the Ledbetter Auditorium.

The program will include instrumental and choral selections performed by Columbia State students, featuring the Columbia State Choir under the direction of Emily Gaskill, associate professor of music. Dr. Mark Lee, professor of music, will lead his Instrumental Performance Ensemble in classical music selections for guitar and wind instruments.

"I look forward to the community coming to see this group of hardworking musicians," Gaskill said. "The concert includes a variety of musical numbers that will be fun for everyone."

Scott Burt, Columbia State adjunct professor, will accompany Gaskill's choir with a variety of seasonal music including an African Noel, "Carol of the Bells" and a traditional English carol titled "Sussex Carol." A rousing spiritual piece will close the program.

The concert is free and open to the public. The Ledbetter Auditorium is in the Frank G. Clement Building on the Columbia Campus, located at 1665 Hampshire Pike.
