Workforce Development Offers Pharmacy Tech Course

(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Jan. 27, 2015) - - - The Center for Workforce Development is offering the "Pharmacy Technician Program" at Columbia State Community College's Columbia Campus beginning March 15.

Classes will take place Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 - 9:30 p.m. through May 3. The comprehensive 50-hour program prepares students to work as a pharmacy technician in retail or other pharmacy settings and to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board's national exam.

Working in pharmacies under the direction of a pharmacist, a pharmacy technician's main responsibility is filling prescriptions according to doctors' orders and preparing medications for dispensing to patients.

The cost for this course is $1,199 and includes textbooks. Registration closes March 7, so register now. Limited seats are available.
