PTK Organizes College-Wide Food Drive

PTK students and sponsors load up 2800 items donated by Columbia State students, staff and faculty.

(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Jan. 5, 2015) - Columbia State Community College's chapter of Phi Theta Kappa national honor society organized its annual food and hygiene drive at all five campuses during the last two months of the 2014 fall semester. PTK students and advisors collected and delivered more than 2,800 food and hygiene donations from students, faculty and staff.

The donations were delivered to the following organizations:

  • The Family Center in Columbia
  • Food bank at Lawrence County High School
  • God's Storehouse in Lawrenceburg

PTK recognizes the importance of reaching out and helping others and the food drive is one of its many charitable endeavors throughout the school year. These community outreaches provide opportunities for individual growth and development.

Huge thanks go out to everyone who donated.
