CWD Offers Microsoft and Leadership Training in November

(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Nov. 4, 2014) - - - Columbia State Community College's Center for Workforce Development is offering a variety of professional development courses during the month of November. Courses include computer and leadership fundamentals for anyone who would like to learn new skills or refresh the skills they already have.

"Introduction to Excel 2010" will have students mastering the fundamentals and increasing proficiency. Learn how to sort and analyze data, design custom charts and graphs, and format worksheets using mathematical formulas. This course will take place Friday, Nov. 7 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

"Introduction to Word 2010" is a hands-on class in which participants will learn how to do basic editing and use document layout features of the popular word processing software. It will take place Nov. 14 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The "Introduction to QuickBooks 2013" course covers banking and billing activities, working with reports and budgets, protecting and backing up data, and other updates from the 2013 software. This class will take place Nov. 21from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

"Getting Started as a New Leader" is a class in which students will learn how to quickly and effectively achieve results in a role as a leader, focus time and effort on high-priority tasks, effectively lead teams to contribute to the organization's business strategies, and achieve results through others by building strong relationships with team members. This class will take place Nov. 12, from 8:30 a.m. - noon.
