Pryor Gallery To Host Artist Reception

Reception Free and Open to the Public Thursday, March 7

(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Feb. 26, 2013) - - - Columbia State Community College welcomes "An Eclectic Mix" to the Pryor Gallery, and the public is invited to meet the artists at a reception on Thursday, March 7 at 5:30 p.m.

"'An Eclectic Mix' is an exhibit of artists and crafts people using very different materials, each achieving beauty in their particular work," said Rusty Summerville, the Pryor Gallery curator. "Working with wood, clay and fabric, skill and artistry is seen in their work, and we are fortunate to have these artists exhibit here at the Pryor Gallery."

Those attending the gallery exhibit are invited to stay for the First Farmer's Performance Series show featuring the Squirm Burpee Circus: A Vaudevillian Melodrama. The performance begins at 7 p.m. in the Cherry Theater.

The Pryor Gallery reception is free, and tickets for the Squirm Burpee Circus are $20 for adults and $10 for students. The evening is appropriate for all ages. Tickets for the Performance Series may be purchased by calling (931) 540-2879.

"An Eclectic Mix" will remain on campus through Friday, March 15. The Pryor Gallery and Cherry Theater are adjacent to each other in the Waymon L. Hickman building on the Columbia campus.
