Williamson County Campus To Host Book Signing

History Instructor/Author Thomas Flagel Featured On December 14

Who says history books can't make great holiday gifts? The Williamson County Campus of Columbia State will host a book signing featuring Columbia State History Instructor Thomas Flagel - author of The History Buffs Guide book series - on Monday, December 14 at 11 a.m. The book signing will take place at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore on Columbia State's Williamson County Campus.

"I'll have the four existing volumes there for signing and I'll simply be talking to people about the books, what they enjoy about history and what I enjoy about history. It's going to be very informal - and great for people looking for a last minute holiday gift," said Flagel, author of the The History Buff's Guide to the Civil War, The History Buff's Guide to World War II, The History Buff's Guide to Gettysburg, and The History Buff's Guide to the Presidents.

The History Buffs Guide series has sold more than 50,000 copies and features history written in a "Top 10 list" format.

"The Top 10 lists have become really popular to those who want to get into the subject and those who feel intimidated by all the print out there," said Flagel, discussing the books in the series. "More books have been written about the civil war than any other American historical topic. These are great books that are quick and digestible. People who are aficionados at Civil War history also love to compare and contrast their own findings with how I write about particular topics."

Columbia State's Williamson County Campus is located at 104 Claude Yates Road in Franklin, next to Franklin High School on Hillsboro road.
