Williamson County Campus Opens Barnes & Noble Bookstore

Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Takes Place On February 12

The Williamson County Campus of Columbia State Community College opened its brand new bookstore on Monday, January 12, 2009. The Barnes & Noble facility features a full array of textbooks, reference materials, college supplies, Columbia State apparel, and much more. Columbia State is partnering with the Williamson County-Franklin Chamber of Commerce for the official grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony, to take place on February 12, 2009 at 11 a.m. The general public is invited to attend. The Williamson County Campus is located at 104 Claude Yates Drive in Franklin.

"The opening of this new bookstore is something to which we have been looking forward," said Dr. Janet Smith, president of Columbia State. "It will provide our students at the Williamson County Campus with access to a modern bookstore designed to complement their learning experience as well as be an opportunity to flash some school spirit with our new Columbia State apparel. Our bookstore is open to the community, thus we encourage residents of Franklin to drop by for a book, gift or apparel and support your community's College."

Community members, business leaders and local politicians will attend the ribbon cutting ceremony, along with several Columbia State students. The event will also feature a brief performance by the Columbia State Commercial Entertainment program. Media is encouraged to attend due to multiple photo opportunities.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided for all in attendance, and the bookstore will have special offers, give-away items and a raffle.

The Williamson County Campus of Columbia State's new bookstore is open to the general public during normal college hours - 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
