WILLIAMSON COUNTY CAMPUS OFFERS EKG TRAINING, ACT PREP COURSE IN JUNE

(FRANKLIN, Tenn. - May 24, 2012) - - - If you're looking to begin a new career or preparing for college, Columbia State Community College has the training you need. Columbia State's Center for Economic and Workforce Development is offering courses at its Williamson County campus during the month of June.

Is your high school student ready to take the ACT? They can do their best when they enroll in the ACT prep course at Columbia State. This course can give them guided practice and review of test taking skills and concepts in English, math, reading and science as they will appear on the exam. This course is for new test takers and test repeaters who want to improve their scores. The class will begin on May 31 and end on June 28, meeting one evening a week.

The comprehensive 50-hour EKG Technician Certification Program prepares students to function as EKG Technicians and take the American Society of Phlebotomy Technician (ASPT) - Electrocardiograph (EKG) Technician exam in addition to other national certification exams. This course will include important practice and background information on anatomy of the heart and physiology, medical disease processes, medical terminology, medical ethics, legal aspects of patient contact, the Holter monitor, electrocardiography and echocardiography. This class will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays starting June 11.
