(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Oct. 24, 2012) - - - Baby Boomers will delight in this salute to pop culture and Americana humor with The Wonder Bread Years. Columbia State Community College's First Farmers Performance Series welcomes this one-man show to the Cherry Theater on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Waymon L. Hickman building on the Columbia campus.

"This show is a combination of stand-up comedy and theater saluting the collective memories of the Baby Boomer generation," said Molly Cochran, director of the Performance Series, adding that even comedian Jerry Seinfeld endorsed the show by commenting that it had his "funny seal of approval!"
The show's scripter-performer is Pat Hazell, who was declared by Showtime to be one of the five funniest people in America. With 25 years of experience as a writer, performer and producer, Hazell is one of the original writers for NBC's Seinfeld, a Tonight Show veteran, a critically acclaimed playwright and a contributing commentator to National Public Radio.
The Wonder Bread Years stays clear of social issues that might distract from Hazell's feel-good survey of a childhood built around Silly Putty and the Slinky. Utilizing his well-honed comedic skills, Hazell offers a glimpse back at a mythical period in American life when a child's only responsibility was to "wake, play, eat and sleep.
