PANDOLFI AND OIL PAINTERS TO PROVIDE FESTIVE EVENING AT COLUMBIA STATE

(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Nov. 27, 2012) - - - Emile Pandolfi welcomes the spirit of the season with a sweeping piano concert at Columbia State Community College's Cherry Theater Thursday, Dec. 13.Pandolfi's concert begins at 7 p.m. and is the fourth installment of the First Farmer's Performance Series.

"There is much to do on campus on December 13," said Molly Cochran, development officer at Columbia State. "We know that everyone is looking forward to easing into the holiday season with the breathtaking sounds of Emile Pandolfi."

The public is also invited to the Pryor Art Gallery from 5:30­­Ã¢â‚¬â€˜7 p.m. for a reception honoring oil painters Anne Blair Brown, Charles Thomas Cox and Gary Young. The gallery exhibit, "The Art of Oil," features paintings from each of the artists and will remain on campus through Friday, Dec. 21.

"We are so pleased to be able to invite everyone to begin the festive evening a little early with the artist's reception in the gallery," said Rusty Summerville, Pryor Art Gallery curator. "'The Art of Oil' includes wonderful landscapes, urban scenes, stills and examples of impressionist style in oil."

Tickets for Pandolfi are on sale through Columbia State's ticket office and are $20 for adults and $10 for students. They can be purchased Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in room 108 of the Pryor Administration building or by calling (931) 540-2879. The box office opens one hour prior to the performance and is across from the Cherry Theater in the Waymon L. Hickman building.

The Pryor Gallery reception is free and open to the public and is adjacent to the Cherry Theater. The evening is appropriate for art lovers of all ages.
