Lawrence County Residents Can Learn From Home

Save Gas Money - Try an Online Class at Columbia State Community College

Columbia State Community College has partnered with the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce to make it very convenient for Lawrence County residents to take high-quality, non-credit online training courses from the convenience of their home or office. This arrangement is made possible through a Columbia State training partner, Ed2go, which offers hundreds of online, instructor-facilitated courses.

"This is your opportunity to brush up on an old skill, learn a new one, or take that course you have always been interested in. Most importantly, you will save money on gas!" said Ron Beck, Director of Economic and Workforce Development at Columbia State. "In return for the Lawrence County Chamber helping to publicize these courses in their newsletter, the Chamber shares in the revenue each time a person who is a member (or whose employer is a member) of the Lawrence County Chamber takes an Ed2go course through Columbia State."

All of the courses provide well-crafted lessons, expert online instruction, and interaction with fellow students. Students have the flexibility to study at their own pace, while still having enough structure and support to complete the course. Classroom access is available 24 hours, seven days a week from anywhere with an internet connection.

New sessions of each course run every month. They last six weeks, with two new lessons being released weekly (for a total of 12). The courses are entirely web-based with comprehensive lessons, quizzes, and assignments. A dedicated expert instructor facilitates every course; pacing learners, answering questions, giving feedback, and facilitating discussions.
