COLUMBIA STATE PRESENTS ONE-ACT PLAY - "MURDER BY POE"

Event Free and Open to the Public

Columbia State Community College will present "Murder by Poe," a one-act play by playwright and screenwriter, Jeffrey Hatcher as a part of The Big Read. The play will be presented in the Ledbetter Auditorium on three separate occasions: Wednesday, March 24 at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 25 at 7 p.m. and again on Friday, March 26 at 7 p.m.

The play is based on the concept that several of Poe's most memorable characters-Auguste Dupin ("The Murders in Rue Morgue"), Roderick Usher ("The Fall of the House of Usher"), and the narrators of popular works "Tell Tale Heart" and "Black Cat"-come together to share their stories. Also interwoven throughout the drama is the mystery of a woman who appears in the middle of the night.

This event is supported through the generosity of The Big Read and the National Endowment for the Arts. The play is free and open to the public.
