COLLEGE STUDENTS AND PARENTS TO GET FAFSA HELP
(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - Jan. 9, 2013) - - - Every year, every college student who plans to seek grants, loans or apply for the Tennessee Hope Scholarship must submit the free application for federal student aid. The FAFSA for the upcoming 2013-2014 school year is now available for completion, and Columbia State Community College is offering free help in filling out the FAFSA at two of its campuses.
"We are happy to again be a resource in the National College Goal program," said Patsy Reynolds, chief enrollment services officer at Columbia State.
Help is being offered on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 2-4 p.m. at the Williamson County campus at 104 Claude Yates Drive in Franklin. On Sunday, Jan. 27 from 2-4 p.m., financial aid counselors will be available in the Jones Student Center cafeteria on the Columbia campus at 1665 Hampshire Pike.
"Columbia State, in conjunction with College Goal, is offering free help completing the FAFSA and answering financial aid questions" Reynolds said. "Help is available to all college students and their parents regardless of the college they plan to attend."
To be able to fill out the FAFSA at College Goal, students and parents should bring a copy of their 2012 federal tax return and last pay stub of 2012. A 2011 tax return will be accepted if 2012 taxes have not yet been filed. Pre-registration for the help session is not required.
