Columbia State Community College's Clifton campus will host its sixth annual Columbia State Clifton Campus Golf Classic on Monday, April 19 at the Ross Creek Landing Golf Club in Clifton, Tennessee.
The tournament, played as a four-man scramble, will begin with registration and lunch at 12 p.m. followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in each flight, with $600 going to the first place team.
"We are very excited each year to see the beginning of the Columbia State Golf Classics kickoff in Clifton, Tennessee. This being the sixth year of the Clifton outing, we are looking forward to more growth and involvement from businesses and citizens in the surrounding areas that will help provide opportunities to students attending the Columbia State Clifton campus," said Tom Turchetta, Director of Development and Alumni Relations at Columbia State. "On behalf of the golf committee in Clifton, and everyone involved in this exciting event, we want to thank each and everyone who has supported this golf outing in the past."
The Ross Creek Landing Golf Course is a championship quality course, designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus. The course has won over many golf fans since its opening in 2001, including the honor of being named the "Number 1 Public Course in Tennessee" by Golfweek magazine for four years in a row.
Teams can enter the tournament at $400 per team, or $100 per player. The entry fee includes cart fees, green fees, range, individual prizes, team prizes, goodie bag and lunch. A "Fun Package" has been added to this year's tournament for only $20. The package includes two mulligans per player, and one red tee per player, plus an entry into the fun game of 'The Pink Lady,' which is a game within the scramble, and the putting contest. Entries are limited to the first 30 teams. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Clifton Campus Scholarship fund.
