The Grand Slam Award is awarded annually by Columbia State to the department that consistently knocks it out of the park all year. Winners of the Grand Slam Award are nominated by their peers, and the winner is selected by the Employee Honors and Awards Convocation Committee.

The communications and media services departments worked with local public safety officials to shoot the video to spotlight the new Fire Science program and highlight the program's community partnerships.
